Privacy Policy

Studio Black Oak (“Studio Black Oak”, “we”, “us”) is an interior design studio based in Atlanta, Georgia. This policy explains what information we collect through this page, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not to be skimmed past.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Studio Black Oak is the controller of the personal information collected through this page. For any question about this policy, or to exercise any of the rights described in section 7, contact us at hello@studioblackoak.com.

Before publishing: confirm the contact address above and the studio’s registered legal name, then delete this note.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

When you complete the inquiry form, we receive only what you type into it:

Your name
Your email address
Your phone number, if you choose to provide it
The project location you enter
The type of project and the estimated investment range you select
The description of your vision
The date and time of the submission, and the page address it came from

Information collected automatically

If you accept cookies, our analytics and advertising tools may record technical data such as your approximate location, device and browser type, the pages you view, and how you arrived here. This is used in aggregate to understand how the page performs. If you decline, these tools are not loaded.

Security data

To keep automated submissions out, the form uses an invisible bot filter and a hidden field that only automated scripts fill in. Neither collects personal information about you.

3. Why we use it

To answer you. We use your contact details and project description to reply to your inquiry and to prepare a first conversation.
To qualify the fit. Project type, location and investment range help us understand whether we are the right studio for what you have in mind.
To improve this page. Aggregated analytics show us which sections are useful and which are not.
To protect the form. Anti-spam signals prevent fraudulent and automated submissions.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We do not add you to a mailing list from this form.

4. Legal basis

We process the information you submit on the basis of your explicit consent, given by ticking the consent box before sending the form, and on our legitimate interest in responding to a commercial inquiry you initiated. You may withdraw consent at any time; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.

5. Who processes it with us

We rely on a small number of service providers who process data strictly on our instructions: the hosting and content delivery provider that serves this page, the form delivery service that routes your inquiry to us, our email provider, and — only if you accept cookies — Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager (Google LLC), which we use to measure how this page performs. Some of these providers operate outside your country; where that happens, transfers are covered by the safeguards those providers make available, such as standard contractual clauses.

6. How long we keep it

Inquiries that do not become projects are kept for up to 24 months, so we can pick the conversation back up if you return. Inquiries that become projects are kept for the duration of the engagement and for the period required by applicable tax and commercial record-keeping rules. Analytics data is retained according to the platform’s own retention settings, typically no more than 14 months.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Confirm whether we hold information about you, and get a copy of it
Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
Ask us to delete information we no longer need
Withdraw consent, or object to a particular use
Ask us to restrict processing while a request is reviewed
Receive your information in a portable format
Know whether we sell or share personal information — we do not
Be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights

Write to hello@studioblackoak.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in Brazil, these rights arise under the LGPD (Lei nº 13.709/2018); in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, under the GDPR; in California, under the CCPA/CPRA. We apply the same standard to everyone regardless of where they write from.

8. Cookies

Cookies strictly necessary to serve and secure this page are always active. Analytics and advertising cookies are set to denied by default and load only after you accept them in the notice shown at the bottom of the page — we use Google Consent Mode, so no measurement or advertising identifier is stored until you choose to allow it. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

9. Security

This page is served over an encrypted connection. Submissions are transmitted over HTTPS and sanitised before they reach us. Access to inquiries is limited to the people at Studio Black Oak who need it to reply to you. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, but we take these safeguards seriously and review them.

10. Children

This page is intended for adults commissioning residential design work. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects how we use information you already gave us, we will contact you before it takes effect.
